​​Marcia G. Yerman is a writer, activist, artist and curator based in New York City. Her articles—profiles, interviews, reporting and essays—focus on women’s issues, human rights, culture and the arts. She is a contributing writer for EmpowHER and Women News Network. She has been published at Huffington Post, AlterNet, The Women’s Media Center, Daily Kos and The Raw Story—among others. Her articles are archived at mgyerman.com. Marcia is the co-founder of cultureID, a 501(c)(3) for those in the cultural arena doing work with political/social intent and content. cultureID connects non-profit organizations and creatives to amplify a full range of global issues. Marcia continually promotes the view that if women's frame of reference is not reflected in the arts (literature, film, theater, visual arts), then their true identities and visions will be defined by male-driven popular culture. Victoria Zackheim wrote The Bone Weaver (novel) and edited five anthologies: The Other Woman: 21 Wives, Lovers, and Others Talk Openly About Sex, Deception, Love, and Betrayal, For Keeps: Women Tell the Truth About Their Bodies, Growing Older, and Acceptance, The Face in the Mirror: Writers Reflect on Their Dreams of Youth and the Reality of Age, He Said What? Women Write About the Moments When Everything Changed, and Exit Laughing: How Humor Takes the Sting Out of Death. Victoria adapted essays from The Other Woman and created a play scheduled for development and production with The Berkeley Repertory Theatre. She wrote the documentary, Where Birds Never Sang: The Story of Ravensbrück and Sachsenhausen Concentration Camps (On the Road Productions), and Maidstone, a screenplay in development (No Attachment Films and Identity Films). She teaches Personal Essay in the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program and is a 2010 San Francisco Library Laureate.
